Who may be referred to De Kinderpoli?

All children 0-18 years of age, with a referral from a general practitioner, with non-acute pediatric complaints, are welcome at De Kinderpoli!

What is understood by non-acute pediatrics?

Referrals to De Kinderpoli may include complaints such as wheezing and/or astma, chronic abdominal pains, malaise, recurrent infections, second opinions, eczema, overweight, gastroesophageal reflux, chronic cough, small stature, long stature, puberty problems.

Complaints necessitating an urgent referral to, for example, an emergency department, are categorised as acute pediatrics and are unsuitable for referral to De Kinderpoli.

How to reach us, also in an emergency and outside of opening hours?

Leaving a voicemail message for De Kinderpoli is always possible via telephone number: 06-17 00 03 30. It is also always possible to send us a message via email address: info@dekinderpolinh.nl. We will then contact you within a maximum of two working days (with the exception of vacations). In the event of an emergency, an acute situation that cannot wait until the following working day, please contact us via telephone number: 06-17 00 03 30. Should it be necessary, we will refer you to a hospital.

In the case of a life-threatening situation, we advise you to call 1-1-2.

How do I make an appointment?

Appointments may be made by sending us an email or by leaving a message on the telephone answering service (we’ll call back).

What do you need to bring to the first appointment?

We are compelled by law to confirm your identity and health care insurance. We, therefore, kindly request you to bring along your own valid identity document (an ID-card, driver’s license or passport) and that of your child, as well as the health care card of the patient.

Are there costs and fees for a consultation at De Kinderpoli?

With a referral from your GP or other physician, the consultation costs fall under your health care insurance. There is no personal contribution for children, and therefore all the costs of the consultations will always be completely covered.

De Kinderpoli is not contracted to specific health insurers and is at liberty to treat all children, irrespective of their health care insurer. Depending on your insurance policy, your health care insurer may not restitute the complete consultation fee.

The Kinderpoli, however, is of the opinion that all children should be able to benefit from the health care we provide.

The Kinderpoli wiil credit the outstanding amount. In other words the consultation leads to no extra costs for the patients/guardians.

In other words, you only pay us the amount you receive from your insurance company. There are no other costs involved for consultations at De Kinderpoli for children up to the age of 18 years and you never have to pay anything extra.

Costs that are not covered by the health insurance company and are for you:

  • Costs incurred for cancellation of the appointment less than 24 hours in advance. These costs are not covered by health insurance.
  • Personal contribution for adolescents 18 years of age and older.

    Why De Kinderpoli and not a hospital outpatient clinic?

    De Kinderpoli provides high quality pediatric health care to children and teenagers, by an experienced pediatricain, in GP practices.

    This means:

    • Less travelling will save time and money for guardians and children
    • The GP rooms are probably less stressful for children than a hospital setting
    • Short waiting lists
    • Longer consultation time for patients and guardians
    • Smaller carbon footprint due to the setting.
